MEDFORD, OR —Britt received a grant from two funds of The Oregon Community Foundation in support of organizational capacity and finances. The Evelyn Nye Cultural and Scholarship Fund of OCF granted $13,000 and the Irene Gerlinger Swindells Fund of OCF granted $17,000. The grants provide support for phase two of an initiative to build organizational capacity and finances, following OCF support in 2009 for initial efforts. The mission of The Oregon Community Foundation is to improve life in Oregon and promote effective philanthropy. OCF works with individuals, families, businesses and organizations to create charitable funds to support the community causes they care about. Through these funds OCF awards more than $60 million annually in grants and scholarships. Britt Festivals invites audiences and artists to celebrate the joy of live performance, the power of community, and the magic of the Britt Experience. Through on-going education and audience development programs, Britt educates new generations of listeners, helping them discover the wonder of music and performance. In addition to presenting concerts, Britt Festivals maintains a formal education program through the Britt Institute. Established in 1985, the Britt Institute hosts a wide variety of learning opportunities through a multi-faceted approach of summer camps, workshops, grade school programs, lectures and adult learning opportunities.
