Alison Krauss & Union Station Featuring Jerry Douglas
Tuesday, June 28 • 7 p.m.
Twenty-six-time Grammy winner Alison Krauss is back at Britt
this year with Union Station featuring Jerry Douglas. Krauss has charmed
audiences for over two decades with a combination of her angelic voice,
unflinching sincerity and inspired fiddle performances. The 2011 tour is in
support of Krauss and Union Station’s most recent album Paper Airplane. Released April 12, Airplanes comes of the heels of Krauss’ 2007 Grammy winning
and critically acclaimed alliance with Robert Plant, Raising Sand, and features 11 songs of poignancy and austere
beauty, chosen with the impeccable taste and unerring intuition that
characterizes Krauss and Union Station’s entire body of work.
Pennsylvania indie-rock trio Good Old War open the show. Their three-part vocal harmonies are a throw back to the era when Crosby, Stills and Nash rules the rock airways.
