"Bird could be the only performer who's lit up both Lollapalooza and Bonnaroo with a combination of vocals, violin, guitar, glockenspiel and whistling...he uses centuries-old instrumentation to give depth and soul to folk rock." ~ESQUIRE

Andrew Bird's initial commercial exposure came through collaborative work with the band Squirrel Nut Zippers. Taking on the role of bandleader, Bird released three albums with his group Andrew Bird's Bowl of Fire before they unofficially disbanded in 2003. Bird went on to radically re-invent himself as a solo artist and in January 2009, he released Noble Beast, his fifth solo album. Special guest TBA.

Portland Cello Project

PCP.jpg"Independent" and "Orchestra" are not two words you often hear in the same breath. Nevertheless, that's exactly what The Portland Cello Project is: an "indie cello orchestra." The somewhat intimidating 8-16 cello ensemble, The Portland Cello Project (or, PCP, as their fans affectionately call them), has had a meteoric rise in the vibrant Portland music scene. PCP performances are unique and eclectic, as likely to mix a Salt N Pepa cover with Bach.

Saw this concert with three really good friends. It was a lot of fun. Nothing beats a night at Brit with good friends, wine and beer. Andrew Bird is really talented, if you are not sure about his music, it’s worth seeing him live one time, especially in a venue such as Britt. Portland Cello Project was entertaining as well. If your into this type of music I would recommend them.

A very interesting show. I actually wasn’t familiar with Andrew Bird prior to going to the show but a friend recommended him.

Every song was a major production featuring digital loops and live whistling, guitar, bowed and plucked violin, a sort of xylophone, and of course singing. An amazing show!
