blondie_classical.jpgBlondie emerged as one of the great pop icons of the late-‘70s new wave punk scene by defying easy categorization. They wrote great rock hooks and brilliant, ironic lyrics. They had the hippest clothes and the coolest hair. Debbie Harry went from the pages of Punk magazine to the covers of mainstream publications everywhere. They made an indelible mark with hits including "Heart of Glass," "Call Me," "The Tide Is High" and "Island of Lost Souls." Blondie reunited in the late-‘90s, and in 2008, they celebrated the 30-year anniversary of Parallel Lines with a re-release of the album that sold over 20 million copies.

While I have to say that Blondie was great to watch live after all these years, I could not believe the lack of security support at the event. I stayed the night before and all day to have a front row seat only to have MANY people come stand in front of me (in front of the stage where nobody is allowed to stand). Security said, “People dance at some shows so it is ok”. This is not correct and never has been a policy. After 15 years of attending concerts, I have never been to a show with so many rude individuals that were allowed to tromp over my families blanket with Britt blessings. I welcome the wristband method any day over what I experience last night. This is the only show I am seeing on the hill this year (not impressed with the schedule) and it may possibly be my families last show if the current climate of “anything goes” continues in front. Signed a disappointed Britt fan!!!!
