Brandi Carlile
Sunday, June 27 • 7:30 p.m.

Brandi Carlile’s third album, Give Up The Ghost, unveils her talents
in their truest form. After debuting with her self-titled album in
2005, the Washington State-bred Carlile saw her fanbase mushroom with
her sophomore disc, The Story, in 2007, boasting songs like the title
track and “Turpentine.” After two albums and non-stop touring, the folk-rock/alt-country/singer-songwriter has
let her guard down on the new album, and offers her most candid
recording to date. For Carlile, the new album is one of extremes: “The
songs that are stripped down, raw and bare are that way so it makes
the listener feel a little uncomfortable,” she says. “And the ones
that are huge are really big, with big harmonies, piano, layering
electric guitar solos and a string arrangement like at the end of
‘Pride and Joy.’” Talented young singer Dave Barnes opens the show.

Reviews:
Excellent performance! Brandi rocked the Britt house and made it very worth while.
Dave Barnes opened up with a great singing voice and a very entertaining performance. Brandi was as I expected spectacular. I saw her when she was here with Chris Isaak a few years ago and immediately bought her cd which she autographed. She has only gotten better with time and deserved her spot as a headliner. please bring her back again soon!
Brandi Carlisle has the most amazing voice of any young female singer today. On top of that, she is an incredibly gifted songwriter, Her live pwerformances are wowing folks all over the country and abroad. She will be more and more difficult to book at the Festival but I would hope that you’ll do everything possible to bring her back.
