It is no exaggeration to call Brian Wilson one of the most influential pop composers, performers and producers of the last 50 years. He was the architect behind the beach Boys' music and sound and pioneer of (still) modern techniques. While his recordings with the Beach Boys remain essential to nearly everyone, his eclectic solo career has had its own rewards. Last year, his live and recorded version of SMiLE earned rapturous reviews. He is thriving once again, making great music, performing with an ace band and selling out concert halls around the world. He won a Grammy this year for Best Rock Instrumental Performance.
