Lucinda Williams has been bringing folk and blues roots together since the beginning of her career, which was launched back in the early ‘80s. 1998's Car Wheels on a Gravel Road earned Williams a Grammy and in 2001 Time magazine dubbed her "America's Best Songwriter," a title she upholds.

Reviews:
If only we could have had more Waifs and Avetts, less Lucinda. She gave a horrible performance! Sound mix was BAD, too much feedback and a generally poor effort! We had been looking forward to this all season, what a disappointment!
Agree with the previous reviewer. Waifs – great. Avetts – outstanding. Lucinda – I don’t know… perhaps drunk? She was slow, off-tempo and mentally checked out. A very uninspired performance. Too bad, as she is a great artist.
The Avett Brothers, who I had never heard of before the show, were tremendous and seemed to be the crowd favorite.
Lucinda Williams was a little disoriented – she started out by saying it was her “first time here,” and I guess most of the crowd had been at her last Britt show (which was a fantastic performance) because there was a collective “huh?”
Her show this time was a little weak, especially compared to the last time she was here, but it wasn’t bad. They ended with It’s A Long Way To The Top (If You Wanna Rock N Roll) , an AC/DC cover, which rocked!
The reviewer above stated she may have been drunk – but she actually seemed more hung over than anything else.

Lucinda Williams was the poorest excuse for a musician or entertainer I have ever heard or seen. Monotonous and devoid of energy. Had her back turned to the audience, didn’t address the audience for the first 1/2 dozen songs. I’m sorry for the musicians who played with her and feel like she owes the audience a refund. If she needs the money maybe she could find something she’s good at.
The Waifs and Avett Brothers were a joy! Full of life and fully present and striving to give good performances. And they succeeded!
Alright, so Lucinda was terrible, but the Waifs and Avett Brothers were PHENOMENAL! I truly hope that the Britt invites them back next year. I would love to see a show were the Waifs opened and the Avett Brothers headlined. Everyone in our group (of +/-30 people) was blown away by them and found ourselves wanting MORE!!!!
