It has been 17 years since Lyle Lovett arrived in Nashville with a demo tape hinting of the brilliantly eccentric career to come—a resume that now includes 12 albums, acclaim from the pickiest of critics, a fiercely loyal fan base, four million records sold, even a second calling as a successful film actor. His unmistakable, idiosyncratic writing and his signature musical mix draws on country, folk, jazz, blues and western swing, among other styles. He’s back at Britt by popular demand with members of his Large Band.

What an extraordinary entertainer on a fine summer evening! Lyle Lovett has assembled an impressive array of musicians and touched on all of the great American musical genres. His conversation with the audience was enjoyable and the music reaffirms my delight with living in a beautiful region, where there is world class music right down the hill!
