Meg Hutchinson

Britt is proud to present this intimate indoor performance with Meg Hutchinson. In this special off-season event, the audience will be seated on the Britt stage, and the backstage area will be turned into a lobby/lounge.

Hutchinson is an award-winning folk singer-songwriter who artfully documents the human condition. With a poet's ease, she makes the personal universal, allowing people's stories to come alive through her unique vocals and haunting melodies. Since the beginning of her career, Hutchinson has received high praise and won several awards, beginning with a Kerrville New Folk Award in 2000, and including awards at the Rocky Mountain Folk Fest. The national publication Performing Songwriter called her, "A master of introspective ballads filled with understated yearning and an exquisite sense of metaphor." Hutchinson has been compared to artists including Dar Williams, Mary Chapin Carpenter and Joni Mitchell. Her latest album is called The Living Side.

Event details:

• Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Patrons should enter the Britt pavilion through the cement steps that face First Street (near the main entrance to Britt).
• There will be no intermission, and no opening act. The performance is expected to be 75-90 minutes.
• 2010 Member benefits apply.
• Beer and wine will be available for purchase. No outside food or beverages allowed for this event.
• General parking is available in both the parking lot across the street from Britt (entrance to the lot is on Pine Street), and in the upper lot at the top of the Britt hill.
• Accessible parking and accommodations are available. Please notify the box office of your needs when you purchase tickets.
