Touring together for the first time ever, Dr. John and the four Neville Brothers are contemporaries whose careers have intersected numerous times. These musicians came of age during the heyday of R&B when the New Orleans sound dominated the national R&B charts. Dr. John's Grammy-winning gruff baritone voice is familiar to millions on hits such as "Right Place Wrong Time," "Iko Iko" and "I Walk On Guilded Splinters." Arthur, Charles, Aaron and Cyril Neville have had long careers as solo performers and as members of the group that bears their family name. They have sold millions of records with numerous gold and platinum releases including "Tell It Like It Is," "Fire On The Bayou" and "Fever." The Neville Brothers will close this concert. Reviews:
Great performance by Dr. John and by the Neville Bros. The length of the intermission was disappointing. I believe that the way it was handled was poor. Someone should have kept the audience informed on a regular basis about the technical issues that were going on, not just one statement after about 45 minutes of waiting. I appreciated that they allowed the Neville Bros to go beyond the 10:30 curfew, however it would have been nice if they had gone a bit longer than they did.
