Opera is the powerful union of music, drama and spectacle. It is perhaps the most elaborate of art forms, calling upon the creative skills of poets, composers, musicians, designers and choreographers. Music communicates feelings that are often inexpressible by words alone.
In opera, the emotion and meaning behind the characters' words are magnified for the istener by the genius of music.
This evening pays tribute to the marriage of music, text and story by showcasing favorite operatic moments. The strains of mozart, Puccini and other masters of the art form will fill the hill as four outstanding guest soloists join Maestro Bay and the Britt orchestra for this special concert. Come experience the romance, tragedy, comedy and drama of life as expressed through some of opera's most beautiful music.
