Meet the instruments of the orchestra and be inspired by a gifted young artist. Eleven year old trumpeter Natalie Dungey was featured on NPR’s From the Top in Fall 2009 and she’ll be sharing the stage once again with host Christopher O’Riley as Britt’s annual Family Concert offers an up close and personal look at the families of instruments that create the sound of a symphony orchestra.
Pre-concert activities begin at 5:45 p.m.: experience a musical safari!
The evening will include interactive pre-concert activities geared toward young elementary students, with five different stations each focused on a different sensory approach to music. Kids will grab a passport on their way in the gates, and have their passports stamped at each safari station! Fully stamped passports will be entered into a raffle for prizes.
