Madeleine Peyroux doesn't simply interpret songs, she possesses them...and vice versa. Peyroux released her debut album, Dreamland, in 1996, a remarkably knowing work in which the then-22-year-old singer brought commensurate insightfullness to material associated with Billie Holiday, Bessie Smith and Patsy Cline. Her latest album, Half The Perfect World mixes in four original tunes along with favorites written by Leonard Cohen, Tom Waits, Fred Neil and Joni Mitchell.

Josh Ritter

Folk-leaning singer/songwriter Josh Ritter has benefited from numerous positive reviews and a loyal fan base. It was his 2002 release Golden Age of Radio that got him noticed. His single "Me & Jiggs" made the Irish Top 40 chart as he played to sold-out audiences all around the country. His following also grew in the USA with sold-out shows in New York City and Boston. While an invitation to the Sundance Film Festival began 2003 on a high note. Much of the equipment used for the session for his third album Hello Starling was Curtis Mayfield's old gear. Animal Years, his much anticipated follow-up, arrived in March 2006.
