Riders In The Sky
Saturday, July 28, 2007 • 7:30 p.m.
Beginning each performance with their trademark greeting, "Mighty fine and great big Western 'Howdy,' all you buckaroos and buckarettes," Riders in the Sky simultaneously pay tribute to and poke gentle fun at the classic cowboy songs of the 1930s and 1940s, particularly the work of the Sons of the Pioneers and Roy Rogers. The 2007 tour paid special tribute to Gene Autry's 100 birthday. Great family show!
Don Edwards
Don Edwards continues to build a recorded legacy enriching our vision of the American West. In its tales of the day-to-day lives and emotions of those who lived it, his ballads paint a sweeping landscape of both the mind and heart, keeping alive the sights, sounds and feelings of this most American contribution to culture and art. Bobby Weaver of the National Cowboy Hall of Fame in Oklahoma City, summed Edwards' importance as "...the best purveyor of cowboy music in America today."
