Wednesday, July 28 • 7:30 p.m.
Styx performances in recent years have included two
Super Bowl appearances, Pollstar Box Office chart-topping tours with Def
Leppard, Journey, Boston, REO Speedwagon, Bad Company, two more studio albums
and no end in sight. Spawned from a suburban Chicago basement in the early
‘70s, Styx eventually transformed into the virtual arena rock prototype by the
late ‘70s and early ‘80s, spawning such hit singles and classic rock radio
standards as “Come Sail Away,” “Renegade,” “Blue Collar Man” and “Fooling Yourself.” For more information, visit http://www.styxworld.com

Reviews:
Incredible energy and a huge presence are Styx trademarks and they were certainly present at Britt! Lawrence Gowan is amazing and certainly handles the Dennis DeYoung material quite well while complementing Tommy Shaw and James Young’s command of a rock audience. Nice to see Chuck Panozzo, even if for just a few numbers. Styx covers their 70s material quite well, but leaves much of the DeYoung-penned 80s library behind. Shaw’s 1981 classic, “Too Much Time On My Hands” was the only post-“Pieces Of Eight” tune that wasn’t crammed inside their opening medley. Despite having seen them three years ago, they seemed just as enthusiastic and engaging as they have the past 40+ years. Good choice, Britt crew!
