Two-time Grammy nominee Tommy Emmanuel's career has spanned over four decades. A household name in his native Australia, Tommy has garnered hundreds of thousands of loyal fans worldwide. His unique "finger style" playing is akin to playing guitar the way a pianist plays piano, using all ten fingers. Emmanuel's flair and unforgettable showmanship have created an enviable fan base that continues to grow every year. In 2008, he released a live CD/DVD Center Stage, recorded at the Sierra Nevada Brewery in Chico, California. Special guest TBA.

Chris Smither

After coming on the radar in 1970 with the well-received debut album I'm a Stranger Too!, guitarist and singer-songwriter Chris Smither has spent his career in a process of refinement, growth and discovery. His masterfultwelfth album Leave the Light On reflects his life's work, and throws in some new wrinkles that reflect where he's been and what he's encountered on his musical journey.

Tommy Emmanuel was magical. The best guitar player I have ever seen. And Chris Smithers, I knew he was good, but, wow! I will be buying their CD’s.

Tommy Emmanuel’s genius, talent and warm-heartedness, combined with the apparent metabolism of a squirrel, made for one of the most brilliant performances I’ve ever seen.
The expression, “the performer took the stage,” would be an understatement; Tommy Emmanuel not only took the stage, but the entire venue, holding us all captive until the hard curfew at 10:30. Had it not been for the curfew, I suspect he may have been happy to play until at least midnight.
There were no electronic phase-shifters or flangers; it was all fingers and hands on an acoustic guitar, with occasional vocals, which filled the entire venue with a sound much bigger than many a three and four-piece band.
Chris Smither was also a joy.

Both Chris and Tommy were amazing! Chris is a dust-in-the-road singer and songwriter that mixes his own blend of folk and blues that combines perfectly with his storytelling and ribald sense of humor. Not many opening acts are called back for an encore with a standing ovation, especially one as sincere and genuine.
Tommy, well… anything one can say sounds trite. Every once in a while someone comes along with true genius, and sometimes we are blessed to have been entertained by such heaven-sent talent. It’s obvious Tommy is doing what he was meant to do, and it’s an inspiration and joy. He played for two hours straight, and might have gone into the night if permitted. I wish there would have been more children in the audience, it’s musicians of this calibre that can influence young moldable minds. The rest of us just got to take home a beautiful warm evening and memories of listening to the best guitarist ever, ever, ever.
Thank you Britt and thank you Tommy and Chris for an outstanding evening under the stars.

Came mostly to see Chris Smither, who (as hoped) was poignant, funny, wonderful. Loved every minute of every song. Tommy Emmanuel was the surprise – that man is JOYful! Infectiously so. Not to mention a world-class guitarist. Got everyone off their feet to applaud many times.
