With standards like "I Left my Heart inSan Francisco," Tony Bennett's warm, husky tenor has always varied timing and phrasing with a jazz fan's sense of spontaneity to bring out the melodies and lyrics of the songs effectively. And he always works with the best from Duke Ellington and Art Blakely to Elvis Costello and k.d. lang. He released his latest CD, The Art of Romance, in the fall of last year.
