Violent Femmes
Friday, June 10, 2005 • 7:30 p.m.
The textbook 1980s American cult band, the Violent Femmes, capture the essence of teen angst with remarkable precision- raw and jittery. Their melodic folk-punk collection includes hits such as "Blister in the Sun," "Kiss Off," "Add it Up," T. Rex's "Children of the Revolution" and Culture Club's "Do You Really Want to Hurt Me?" Their humor and quirky arrangements can't help but apeal to the college kid in all of us.
John Doe
Friday, June 10, 2005 • 7:30 p.m.
John Doe, former bassist, vocalist for the highly influential L.A. punk band X, opens the show. His new album Forever Hasn't Happened Yet achieves a deceptively delicate balance that defines the best of punk
and bues. Doe has garnered worldwide acclaim for his recent albums that
Entertainment Weekly calls "rip roarin' and warm hearted."
