Britt Festivals Visits The Big Apple in Search of 2009 Performers
Posted Jan 08, 2009 at 08:23 AM in Behind The Scenes
This week the executive director of Britt Festivals, Rick Hood, and Mike Sturgill, director of programming, are traveling to the Association of Performing Arts Presenters (APAP) Conference in New York City. So what are they doing in the Big Apple?
Rick and Mike are scouting artists to bring to Britt Festivals for the 2009 performance season. Some people think that Britt has already booked the performers for this year. In fact, artists are just beginning to book their 2009 tour schedules.
“We are excited to see who is touring this year and are looking forward to bringing the best and brightest talent to southern Oregon,” says Mike Sturgill. “This conference is a great way for us to meet with agents and artists to invite them to participate in our season.”
The APAP Conference is a grand extravaganza of performance arts exhibits, meetings, workshops, performance showcases, networking opportunities, amazing ideas, astonishing things to see and hear, and unparalleled fellowship and collegiality.
If you were the director of programming at Britt, who would you want invite to Britt this year? Tell us on our discussion forum.
