27th Annual Britt Bash

Posted Jan 20, 2009 at 12:11 AM in General, Britt Institute

The countdown is on…only 53 more days before the 27th Annual Britt Bash. The organizers of the event are planning a festive evening of fine dining and exciting auction items followed by dancing to live music.  Plus, it is for a great cause. This is a fundraiser supporting Britt Festivals’ arts and education programs.

The Britt Institute, our educational arm since 1985, provides quality summer music programs, the Music in the Mornings™ listening program for elementary students throughout southern Oregon, internships, lectures and master classes. All proceeds from the Bash will go towards the community arts and education programs sponsored by Britt Festivals.

I am so excited to kick up my heels to the AnnieMac band. They played this summer as the opening act for Three Dog Night. AnnieMac draws on old-school R&B riffs, deep soul, and emotion-inspired lyrics for hard-edged originals and highly danceable covers. Often compared to The Band, Little Feat and The Allman Brothers Band, AnnieMac delivers guitar rock that speaks to the heart. Check out their web site.

guitars-opt.jpgThere are some great auction items this year, including my favorite item, a Fender Telecaster Guitar signed by the musicians seen on the Britt stage in 2008! What a great collector’s item for your home office or entertainment room. It’s definitely something you could brag to all your friends about.

Other auction items include:

  • An auction favorite! Private wine cellar dinner for 10, hosted on the Britt Hill by Peter Adesman & Robin Miller and Chef Alex Schulenburg.  Includes reserved seats to concert of bidder's choice;
    • Start your engines! NASCAR Racing for two—classroom training and driving on a professional track. Airfare and four nights hotel included;
      • Sunriver home for four days, three nights (sleeps up to 10) and a round of golf and dining credit at Broken Top Club for a lucky foursome;
        • Only at the Britt Bash! Valley View “Anna Maria” Merlot bottle signed by David Crosby, Steven Stills and Graham Nash. If that’s not enough, buy another Valley View “Anna Maria” Merlot signed by Mark Knopfler to add to your one-of-a-kind wine collection.
        • For the full list of auction items, please visit the Britt Bash web site.

          I look forward to seeing all at the Britt Bash on Saturday, March 14. Please visit the Britt Bash web site to reserve your space today! And remember, the Fender Telecaster Guitar is mine!
