Diana Krall has announced her upcoming 2017-2018 world tour in support of her anticipated album Turn Up The Quiet to be released on Verve Records May 5, 2017. Krall is a jazz musician who achieved crossover success with her understated vocals and her bebop piano playing. Canadian born, Diana Krall is a jazz musician whose breakthrough came in 1996 with the album All for You. She received her first Grammy Award for 1999's When I Look in Your Eyes. In all, Krall has been awarded five Grammys, and has been nominated 13 times. On The Girl in the Other Room (2004), Krall included some of her own compositions for the first time, as well as songs written or co-written by British singer-songwriter husband Elvis Costello. Krall has toured worldwide, mostly with her trio - a guitar and drums, in addition to her piano. She's performed at Carnegie Hall, and at the White House for President Barack Obama, among various other venues.
“So much of what we do as artists is a combination of personal experience and imagination, and how that all creeps into your work is not so linear,” says Krall about her approach to songwriting.
