Each year, Britt seeks a local artist to create an original piece to commemorate the season. The winning piece is featured as our Fine Arts Poster, on the front of the playbill and in season marketing pieces. This year's piece is an original watermedia painting by Pam Haunschild. The poster is the 35th in a series celebrating Britt through the visual arts.
The 2019 Fine Arts Poster is available to purchase at the gift booth on the Britt hill, and in our Medford office at 216 W. Main Street. Signed posters are $35, and unsigned posters are $20.
Born in Chicago, Pam is a nature artist who splits her time between the Rogue Valley and Bandon, Oregon. After a career as a social science professor at Stanford and University of Texas-Austin, Pam turned back to her first love and has been painting full time ever since. She educated herself by taking a lot of classes and workshops, and was fortunate to be able to do intensive study with two nationally known watermedia artists. She has also been selected as artist-in-residence at three National Parks: Lassen (CA), Glacier (MT), and Lake Clark (AK). As a regular fan of Britt concerts, she applied for the Fine Arts Poster in 2016, and was one of three finalists selected from ten nominees.
You can learn more about Pam at her website: www.pamhaunschild.com
The original painting will be offered as an auction item during the Best of Britt fundraising event for Britt Education & Engagement programs, held on Monday, July 1 along with the Kris Kristofferson and The Strangers concert. During this event, attendees will be able to view the painting and have the option to bid on it.
