Britt volunteers rock! About 20 volunteers donated their Tuesday evenings to call Britt patrons and encourage them to renew their memberships, or become new members. The cheerful crew was able to secure several memberships last night, and calls continue tonight. Thanks to all!

Britt's hard-working volunteers were honored at the annual Volunteer Appreciation Party last Sunday, September 27, on the Britt hill. Dinner was provided, followed by an awards ceremony, and a performance by the Hamazons. Several volunteers were honored:

On August 16, the closing night of the 2009 Britt Classical Festival, long-time member and volunteer Sam Elliott was honored on the Britt hill with a Family Tree award. Former Executive Director Ron McUne made the dedication with these remarks:
"The Family Tree Award is Britt’s highest honor and since its inception in 1995, only 12 or 13 people have received this honor.

Sharon Johnson's column in today's Medford Mail Tribune says that
people who volunteer are much healthier. We couldn't help but think of
our Britt volunteers and their big hearts!

Being a volunteer is definitely a state of mind and lifestyle choice.
It can be something that we do for a couple of hours once a week or
several times a month, or it can be a one-time thing. It is something
thoroughly enjoyable and fulfilling. Of course, volunteering is
something that everyone can do. Most people would say that they just
don’t have time, but I would argue that it is more of a matter of how
you choose to spend your time.
