BACKGROUND/EDUCATION: Fifth place in 2018 Leipzig International Bach Competition, 2017 Father Merlet Award from Pro Musicis, Doctor of Musical Arts from Stony Brook University with Gilbert Kalish, 2019
CAREER INSPIRATION: My teacher Gilbert Kalish is my biggest influence and I greatly admire the way he has made a career in music playing chamber music, solo, and teaching He's 85 years old and still performing concerts every week!
MUSICAL TASTES: I tend to gravitate towards performing Bach and enjoy working on historical keyboards. However, I always say that my favorite thing to play is whatever I am currently playing—I love to play and am always grateful for the opportunity to make music!

IF YOU WEREN'T A MUSICIAN: I would probably be an elementary school teacher.

HOMETOWN: Miami Beach, FL 
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE: Born in Chicago, Illinois, Julia began playing the harp at the age of four. She has performed in many of the world's greatest halls, including Orchestra Hall (Chicago), Carnegie Hall (New York), Bunka Kaikan (Tokyo), Symphony Hall (Birmingham, UK), Oriental Art Center (Shanghai), National Centre for the Performing Arts (Beijing), and National Concert Hall (Taipei). Recent performances include concerts with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, New York Philharmonic, City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra (U.K.), St. Louis Symphony, San Diego Symphony, Milwaukee Symphony, Rochester Philharmonic, The Florida Orchestra, & Phoenix Symphony. She held the position of Principal Harpist of the New World Symphony in Miami Beach from 2014-2017. In 2019, Ms. Coronelli performed as Guest Principal Harp on The Chicago Symphony Orchestra's Asia Tour, led by Maestro Riccardo Muti. Tour stops included Taipei, Shanghai, Beijing, Tokyo, and Osaka. She is excited to be joining the Sarasota Orchestra as Principal Harpist for the 2019/2020 season. 
BACKGROUND/EDUCATION: Master’s of Music from The Juilliard School, and a Bachelor’s of Music from the Chicago College of Performing Arts.
