Message from Britt Executive Director Jim Fredericks
 Friends,
First of all, thank you. If you're here for the first time, thank you for checking us out. We hope you like what you see, and are encouraged to join us for a show. Or two or three. If you're a member, thank you for your support of this wonderful organization. Without you, we wouldn't be here, and I hope we have helped bring you joy and great music that you carry with you.
I'm new here, but I hope to have the chance to meet as many of you as I can as we move forward. I'd love the chance to learn from you about your great Britt experiences, and even your not-so-great ones (although I hope they're far fewer!) We work hard to bring quality and variety to our Britt concerts, and feedback from our members and audiences help us to ensure we continue to improve our programming.
A few words about me; I'm new to Southern Oregon, but not to the Pacific Northwest. My wife grew up in Portland, and we've lived there, as well as Seattle. Like many of you, we were drawn to this area by the incredible natural beauty and outdoor opportunities. We have four wonderful children; three daughters, and a son. Our daughters are all musical, and have either sung in choirs, or acted in shows, or both. Our son loves to sing and dance too, and we recently enjoyed his holiday concert (he's 9).
Music has always been an important part of my life. Playing it, listening to it-all varieties of music from jazz to big band to classical to rock to country, and lately, thanks to my daughters, to hip hop and current pop. I can think of no better job than the one I'm now in—Executive Director of Britt Festivals. And in order to be successful in this job, I need the continued help and support of the Britt Community. You all probably know we've faced some difficult challenges. And we're not out of the woods yet. We're working hard all the time to do a better job, to improve our product, and to make sure we're financially solvent-but we still need your help. Please continue to support Britt, in whatever way you can, whether it be attending a single concert, or becoming a member or donor. I promise you'll get great value for your support. And I also promise to listen to your thoughts and feedback as to how we can improve. Because we're all Britt.
