Michael Franti is a world-renowned musician, filmmaker, and humanitarian who is recognized as a pioneering force in the music industry. Franti believes in using music as a vehicle for positive change and is revered for his energetic live shows, political activism, worldwide philanthropy efforts and authentic connection to his global fanbase.
Once an outlier in his message of positivity minded political consciousness, Franti has found that message gaining momentum in the mainstream in recent years, a phenomenon that compelled him to push his artistry even further, stating "I feel a deeper sense of purpose in music today than I ever have in my career.
"My goal is to make the most inspiring music I possibly can for this intense, crazy and wonderful time we're all living in." Michael Franti & Spearhead will be kicking off their "Stay Human" Tour at BottleRock Napa on May 26, 2018 and releasing their 10th studio album in June. This summer's tour features special guests, Dustin Thomas, HIRIE, AHI and Victoria Canal. Franti’s Stay Humanfull-length documentary, featuring songs from the new album, premieres at the Asbury Park Music + Film Festival on April 27 and will be screened at U.S. and International film festivals throughout 2018.
"This wasn’t just entertaining, this was an epic spiritual experience. — Franti makes you forget about all the stress in life. This concert was about the music and spreading his message of love. We experienced a pretty spectacular night." - Mile High Feedback
"Here was a whole group of people young and old, on stage and off, holding hands and singing for a better world. As I said, it was a special kind of night. Make sure you check Michael out when it comes to your town so you can experience some of the magic." - Reggae in NYC
Guest Artists: Dustin Thomas & Victoria Canal
Big hair, big smiles, and a whole lot of love: International globe-trotter Dustin Thomas is making waves from Australia to Moscow with his infectious blend of beat-box/soul folk. Armed with a voice, a guitar and universal anthems of faith, love, and war; this young artist continues to inspire hearts around the world on his mission of music, joy, and peace.
Now based between Amsterdam and London, Victoria Canal has also lived in Munich, Shanghai, Tokyo, Barcelona and Dubai. The influence of travelling has shaped her music as well as her personality, allowing her to see the world’s cultural melting pot in all its rich glory. She was also born without her right forearm due to amniotic band syndrome and this has allowed her to give a voice to people who might not traditionally become performers and has added an additional layer of empathy to her emotional spectrum.
