Jeff Bridges ‘the actor’ is known for such major motion films as The Last Picture Show, Fearless, Iron Man, Starman, The Fabulous Baker Boys, The Fisher King, Thunderbolt and Lightfoot, Seabiscuit, Arlington Road and The Big Lebowski. He won the Academy Award for Best Actor for his role as Otis "Bad" Blake in the 2009 film Crazy Heart and earned his sixth Academy Award nomination for his portrayal of Rooster Cogburn in 2010's True Grit.
Bridges began a serious foray as ‘the musician’ with the movie, Crazy Heart. He recently released a soulful and heartfelt self-titled album, featuring a roster of magnificent songwriters and musicians.
Produced by Bridges' friend of three decades, Grammy-award winner T-Bone Burnett, the new album may mark a switch from the six-time Oscar nominee's usual day job, but the performances on Jeff Bridges consistently feel both comfortable and true.
Bridges draws strong connections between his two passions of acting and music-making. "There are more similarities than differences," he says. "They're both very collaborative, you're working with different artists, but there are also solo aspects in the writing and the practicing. You prepare, and then you let go and give it up."
