Two-Night Package: The Golden Age of the Silver Screen
Buy both nights and SAVE! Friday, August 8 and Saturday, August 9 • 8 p.m.
These two concerts pay tribute to the golden age of movie music, a time when some of the world's best composers were writing memorable movie soundtracks. It was the age of Herrmann, Korngold, Newman, Waxman, Steiner and Rózsa. Movies were America's premiere source of entertainment and this new music became a permanent part of America's musical landscape. To hear this music liberated from the visuals proves the genius of these great composers. This weekend, we celebrate some of Hollywood's greatest film music as well as two concert pieces by these composers who brought classical music to the silver screen.
