Family Concert / Britt Orchestra / Enchantment Theatre Company
Saturday, August 21, 2010 • 7:30 p.m Pre-concert activities: 5:45-7:00 p.m.
Featuring excerpts from Prokofiev's Cinderella
For nearly 30 years, Enchantment Theatre Company has been producing innovative quality theater for children and their families, and for more than 20 years, they have been collaborating with symphony orchestras in productions designed to introduce young people to the magic of symphonic music. The Company presents inspiring classic tales using its special blend of magic, mask, pantomime, puppetry and music.
In this concert, the audience will follow Cinderella on her journey of self-discovery from her humble hearthside to her transformation into a princess. Along the way you will meet her ridiculous puppet step sisters, her fairy godmother and, of course, her prince charming. The orchestra plays the part of musical storyteller as the Enchantment Theatre Company brings Prokofiev’s humorous and evocative music to life.
Plan to come to the hill early and take part in Cinderella-themed pre-concert activities from 5:45 -7 p.m.
