Raining Jane

RainingJane.jpgRaining Jane is a Los Angeles-based independent rock band that evolved out of the UCLA music scene. The band has co-written songs with Jason Mraz, and drummer Mona Tavakoli recently performed with Mraz on Today and Late Night with David Letterman. Raining Jane toured with Sara Bareilles in 2011, including a stop at Britt. The band returned to Britt in October 2011 to perform an intimate concert on stage, and conducted two days of educational outreach programs at Crater Renaissance Academy. Raining Jane helped establish a non-profit organization in Los Angeles that they run, dedicated to empowering students through music education.

Meghan Toohey


Meghan Toohey is a multi-instrumentalist, songwriter, singer, producer, and performer. She is the founder, singer and songwriter for the band The Cold and the Lovely with Patty Schemel (Hole) and Nicole Fiorentino (Smashing Pumpkins). They released their debut album in 2012 and have had songs featured on Gossip Girl and The Vampire Diaries. Meghan has toured extensively as a multi-instrumentalist with artists including Saw Doctors, The Weepies, Schuyler Fisk and DJ Samantha Ronson, and has licensed several of her songs for film and television. In addition to performing, she focuses on producing indie artists, and has scored music for two films.

The Cold and the Lovely 

Page Hamilton


A film composer, guitarist and music producer, Page Hamilton's most distinctive sonic qualities are rooted in his untraditional beginnings. He co-founded the pioneering alternative metal band Helmet as its guitarist, frontman and songwriter. Helmut's 1992 album Meantimeearned a Grammy nomination, went Gold, and has been described as "a cult classic." The band co-headlined the 2006 Warped Tour, and Page later played lead guitar for David Bowie on his 1999 tour. In addition to creating the technically complex and emotionally driven music of Helmet, Hamilton also holds degrees in Classical and Jazz Performance from the Manhattan School of Music and University of Oregon, and has studied orchestration at USC.

Bob DiChiro


After nearly 30 years in the LA music scene, including stints as a signed artist with Chrysalis and Electra records, Bob relocated to the Rogue Valley where he continues to pursue his career. He is the director of The Groveman Recording Studio, a non-profit facility with outreach programs for local teens. A recording engineer and producer, Bob also plays everything from accordion, guitar, piano and has played bass for touring blues phenom, Karen Lovely.

David Scoggin


David Scoggin moved to the Rogue Valley in 1999 after many years as a first call jazz, rock, funk keyboardist and educator in the San Francisco Bay Area and in Minneapolis where he worked at Prince's Paisley Park Studio. He has shared the stage with Bo Diddley, The Crusaders, Janet Jackson, Billy Preston, Sheila E., Tanya Maria, TheTime, Bill Bruford, Earthworks, and many others. He currently teaches American Jazz, History of Rock and Jazz Piano at Southern Oregon University, and music theory, improvisation and private piano, bass and guitar at the Briscoe Art Wing.

Dirk Price


Guitarist, vocalist and writer Dirk Price cut his musical teeth in the clubs of Austin and during years of touring the world. The combination of the Texas Blues that he grew up with and Jazz influences learned as a graduate of Dick Grove School of Music in L.A. have made Dirk a highly sought-after multi-talented musician. He has performed as guitarist with Jack Johnson, Bo Diddly, The Coasters, Ivan Neville and Gypsy Soul and was Music Director for the Inkspots. Price has released 5 albums, has had his compositions performed on international television and recently scored the music for 2 PBS documentaries. Over the past 12 years as a founding member of The Rogue Suspects, he has played in excess of a thousand gigs and has shared the stage with James Brown, Michael McDonald, Peter Frampton, Tower of Power and others. He is the owner/operator of an international home-study music school: Dick Grove School Without Walls.
