Camp Information: The String Quartet Academy is a remarkable program tailored to talented and advanced violinists, violists and cellists, roughly between the ages of 16 and 24, who want to explore the exciting and intimate world of chamber music. The camp accepts 32 students, comprising 8 quartets. Studies include daily ensemble rehearsals, quartet coaching sessions, chamber orchestra, master classes, private lessons, score study and performance opportunities, all presented in a nurturing atmosphere that inspires the highest standards of commitment and dedication. Students are challenged to expand their technique and musicianship in ways that will change their approach to music forever, compelling them to become more expressive and creative performers.
Students also attend all of the Britt Festival Orchestra performances and have the opportunity to participate in special sessions with Maestro Peter Bay and Britt Orchestra guest soloists.
