Beverage Container Notice

Published: June 20, 2022

To Britt patrons:

We apologize! We have changed the way that we check bags when you come to Britt concerts and did not let you know ahead of time. We missed the mark and want to inform you why this change is needed and how we plan to move forward.

Why the change?

Although we have lifted masking and vaccination/testing policies, COVID is still with us and it impacts the way that Britt Security can safely check containers of liquids for alcohol. Before this season, when outside alcohol was not allowed into Britt Presents concerts, security would check unsealed containers by asking patrons to take the lid off and smell for alcohol. At this time, it is not safe for security staff to check this way. Because of this, we cannot allow containers that you have filled with your own beverages through the gates. Unsealed containers of liquids will need to be emptied or returned to your vehicle prior to entry.

Our remedy

We encourage you to bring empty containers or store-sealed bottles of non-alcoholic beverages with you to the Britt Presents concerts. Britt will provide a water refilling station inside the venue for you to refill your containers free of charge. The water stations will be filled with tap water. Our beverage provider, West Coast Events, will continue to offer chilled bottles of water for sale in addition to cold beer and wine. As a reminder, outside alcohol is allowed only during the Britt Festival Orchestra concerts.

We appreciate your patience as we continue to learn how to bring outstanding music performances to the Britt hill in Jacksonville during these challenging and ever-changing times. Your support means the world to us, and we are grateful for your feedback as we grow.
