Britt Star Award

The Britt Star Awards for the 2020-21 School Year will be chosen in May of 2021

The Britt Star Awards Program recognizes outstanding music students in Rogue Valley public schools, and includes a visit to each participating school by Britt Festival Orchestra Music Director Teddy Abrams.

In 2020, and with the exclusive sponsorship of Dutch Bros, we were able to expand the program to include 12 awards for 7 schools. Award winners receive a small cash scholarship, two lawn passes to attend all of the Britt Festival Orchestra concerts in the coming season, and a Certificate of Merit. Band and orchestra students are nominated by their music teacher at each participating school in May, and awards are given at the end of the school year.

Britt also acknowledges several Jacksonville Elementary School students for their artistic achievements each year with three lawn seats to a Britt Festival Orchestra concert of their choice and a Certificate of Merit.

Our education and outreach continues through our BrittVids video series and other virtual programs. Please consider donating to education to help us continue to bring you this free content.

Britt Education thanks Dutch Bros for their Exclusive Sponsorship of the Britt Star Awards Program, enabling us to recognize outstanding music students in the Rogue Valley.

"Thank you so much for the scholarship that you have graciously awarded me. It was so nice to get recognition for my work as a musician, especially from such an awesome organization. The award was a welcome piece of good news in these trying times. I plan to keep playing and to minor in music at the University of Oregon next year. This award will help me with the cost, in addition to giving me some high quality entertainment next summer. Thanks again for this wonderful opportunity. - Owen Akiyama, South Medford High School"
