BrittKids Koncerts are FREE to the public - Scout says ALL KIDS of ALL AGES are invited!
All performances, with the exception of the Aug. 18 concert, are in the Britt Performance Garden which opens at 9:45am. All performances start at 10:15am.
Note: come prepared for warm weather - bring light clothing, sun screen and lots of water.
BrittKids Koncerts create a fun and casual setting to help local families introduce their children to music, dance, and art from around the world. These free performances help the next generation of artists learn about the performing arts in a way that is both engaging and enlightening. Early exposure to live performance will increase the interest of children and families in artistic activities, such as learning an instrument, singing, dancing, participating in a school music or theater program.
Exclusive 2018 BrittKids Koncert Sponsor:
Britt Education & Engagement is now accepting program submissions for the BrittKids Koncert series to be held during July and August of 2018 at the Britt Performance Garden in Jacksonville, Oregon. This free, family-friendly series is entering its 3rd season with each performance averaging 300+ audience members. All BrittKids Koncerts begin at 10:15am.
Britt’s Director of Education, Kay Hilton, will program and manage the series, negotiate performance fees, and oversee each performance. Each submitting ensemble must provide a designated Manager who will serve as the primary contact between Britt and the ensemble. The Manager must appear in the presentation(s), organize all off-site rehearsals, and provide one dress rehearsal with the full ensemble for Ms. Hilton. Tech support is provided for all performances but not for the dress rehearsal. Performance and content notes will be given at the dress rehearsal by Ms. Hilton, who will make final decisions regarding what will and will not be presented on behalf of Britt.
All submissions will be judged based on artistic quality, feasibility (technical complexity, staging needs, props, etc.) and content. Artists are encouraged to include the following elements: music education, non-English language and cultural education, audience interaction/involvement, accessibility/diversity education, arts, sciences, and history. Religious or political content is strongly discouraged. Failure to follow the submission guidelines will result in an automatic rejection.
